Might as well…
April 26th, 2008
Seeing as how I have to pay for this space and I have Wordpress installed, I might as well go ahead and make use of it, eh?
It’d be overkill for me to try and list everything that’s happened since I last actually blogged, so I’ll try not to dwell on anything from the past. I thought I had found ‘im! I thought I had found the guy that I was waiting for - CJ. He had it all: compassion, thoughtfullness, concern and much, much more. The only problem is we’re just friends.
But, before I make it sound much worse than it is, I’m glad we’re just friends. I value friendship more than most do and his friendship I value very much. He and I wouldn’t have lasted and I’m glad we don’t have to worry about that. Now, we can just enjoy our time together as friends.
Speaking of which, I play a game, City of Heroes, and in this game we have what are known as ’supergroups.’ (A guild, if you will.) Unfortunately we’re all spread out over the country and I happen to be the only one who doesn’t have someone else in their state. One of the people I talk to all the time, Ginn (AKA - “Teh Shexay Ele!”,) lives in PA with her husband, Matt (AKA - “Smoke”,) and their children. With the kids, it’d be unreasonable to ask them to come down to VA so I inquired about a little ‘meet-n-greet’ up there and they said yes! Well, this was back in December. I was to leave the day after Christmas and come back New Years Eve. Well, due to financial difficulties, I was unable to. This turned into a ‘Spring Break’ vacation, which turned into a ‘whenever you can’ vacation. So, after talking about CJ and then a brief splattering of ideas, we decided to come up May 20-ish to see Eddie Izzard in concert! Woot! Even after the ‘friends’ thing, we’re still going and I couldn’t be happier!
Let’s see. What else could I ramble about? Oh! My cousin finally came out to me and I’m so pleased that she did! Congrats to you, hun! Tomorrow, a few friends, my mom and I are going to Godfreys for drag brunch and I’m glad. Finally a day with the people I care about and we get to watch men dress up as women and lipsync and dance to songs that I know whilst I eat my french toast! What more could a gay guy as for?!
I’ll tell you what! Long story short, I’m not going to my regular high school prom this year. I’ve been 2 years and don’t see it worth the time, money or effort to do so again. However, I will be attending an alternative prom hosted by a GLBTQ program I used to attend. And who better to go with than two of my straight gal pals?! Why am I so excited about this? I’m going in drag!
Tuxedos suck shit and I can’t go unless I’m dressed up. So, my only other choice is to wear a dress, and that sounds like a fun night to me. Notice there was no exclamation mark there. Am I thrilled about it? No. Am I going to have fun with it? Yes, yes and yes! I purchased a black dress and a wig. After this is over, the dress is being sold on eBay and the wig is staying with me. I love it! I’ll never have a use for it again, but it’s amazing looking! I’m sure some drag queen out there could use it, anyhow. I’ll be sure to get some pictures from prom so we can all see how amazingly horrid I look in a dress.
Other than that, I’m afraid I don’t have much to talk about. Hopefully this site will start getting some hits now and I’ll have a reason to blog, so let me know you’re out there and reading this, please!
